The VS 1900 series is made by hand, following the original Larson Bros. plans and using only the best materials and hardware components. The tops are calibrated by hand, the instruments painted with a thin coat of nitro varnish.
Between the mid-1890ies and the early 1940ies, Swedish brothers Carl and August Larson created a remarkable legacy of top-quality stringed instruments.
The Larson brothers invented a number of new design and construction features. Laminated bracing, the metal support rods in Prairie State instruments and the manufacturing of guitar top and back under tension were features that separated them from their contemporaries.
Now, after this brand and expertise lay dormant for more than half a century, Larson Guitars are being built again with strict adherence to the innovative principles and concepts created by the Larsons roughly a hundred years ago. All the beautiful little details that made Larson guitars special back then will inspire and delight the players of today’s reissues.
