The artist after whom this model is named, Raphael Saadiq, a Grammy award-winner, is a well-known guitarist, bassist and producer of several platinum albums. Saadiq selected a special combination of woods for this Telecaster® consisting of an ash body, a maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard with clay dot position indicators. Vintage-tall frets and a bone nut give this guitar the aesthetics, sound and feel of a classic Fender instrument. The old-school '59 "C" profile neck and vintage hardware combine perfectly with the impeccable flash paint job, black binding, and custom artwork on the pickguard. Custom Raphael Saadiq Tele® single-coil pickups produce an excellent vintage sound. Aside from all these classic features, Saadiq did want this guitar to have a more modern and flatter fingerboard radius of 9.5" (241.3 mm) for great comfort.
