1991 Epiphone Sheraton Antique Natural – MIJ Terada – Pre-Elitist 3, 65 KG 1991 Epiphone Sheraton in Antique Natural, built in Japan at the highly respected Terada Factory. This is a pre-Elitist, domestic Japanese market model from an era that many players consider one of the high points of Sheraton production. Terada-built examples from the early ’90s have developed a strong reputation for their consistency, wood selection, and overall craftsmanship, and this guitar clearly reflects that legacy. It features a beautifully defined flame maple body in Antique Natural, paired with a three-piece maple neck constructed with a long tenon joint for added stability and resonance. The neck has a slim C profile that feels comfortable and fast in hand, and it is topped with a rich chocolate-brown Indian rosewood fretboard adorned with pearloid block inlays, creating a refined and elegant contrast that perfectly suits the Sheraton aesthetic. Acoustically, the guitar is lively and resonant, with the solid, well-balanced feel you would expect from a quality Terada build. The binding has naturally developed a subtle smoky hue over time, complementing the slightly aged gold hardware and enhancing its understated vintage character. The guitar is in very good condition for its age. There are light surface marks consistent with normal play wear, three small indentations on the front left area of the body, and a small crack in the polyurethane finish on the upper rear of the neck. This crack is purely cosmetic. There are no structural issues, no breaks, and no repairs. The neck remains exceptionally clean and smooth along its entire length, and all 22 frets show minimal wear, offering comfortable and precise playability. The original Frequensator tailpiece has been professionally replaced with a stop tailpiece. As a result, the original screw holes and grounding hole are visible near the lower strap button. This conversion improves overall stability and provides a slightly firmer, more direct playing response. All electronics are original Epiphone Japan components and function exactly as they should. The stock pickups deliver clear articulation, smooth sustain, and a well-balanced semi-hollow voice that works beautifully across clean and driven settings. The guitar weighs 8.2 lbs (approximately 3.7 kg), striking a comfortable balance between substance and resonance. It has been professionally cleaned and set up with a fresh set of 10–46 strings and is ready to play. Included is a Japanese Epiphone branded soft case. A well-preserved early ’90s MIJ Sheraton with the build quality and character that have made Terada examples increasingly sought after. A refined, solid, and great-playing instrument that stands confidently on its own.
