All frets are mounted on the fretboard in a slightly curved shape, so that each string crosses all frets at 90 degrees, providing minimal string contact on a fret. This makes the scale length of each string even when it actually varies with conventional fretting. The CFS is a solution to fretting on a traditional guitar and bass and offers clearer articulation and tones that add dimension when you pick a string and also cut through the mix when you play single notes. Compound Radius Fretboard The compound radius fretboard has a smaller (rounder) radius toward the nut, while a larger (flatter) radius toward the neck end, similar to the shape of a cone in the upper registers.
